Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hope you all are having a safe and happy holiday weekend- we sure are! We had our first trick-or-treaters come at 1pm- this is our first real Halloween so we're excited to see all of the little ones in costume. Here is my October challenge card. I used paper from a halloween stack by k&company. Love these papers- have tons of paper left for many more halloweens to come! On the front i just did lots of layering. The skull and spider webs are stamps by inkadinkadoo and stamped using versamark ink then heat embossed white embossing powder. The inside is also a stamp by inkadinkadoo. The 2 thin strips were a mistake I made that I turned into an accent and then use my mono multi glue to stick it on- very messy!! Enjoy!

Congratulations!

Hi All! This is my September challenge... pink and black Congrats card! So I don't know why the card looks so messy in the picture... image quality is too good??? Lol! The card looks pristine in real life! Let me tell you what I used... basic black card stock for the card. the bottom layer with the floral print is really cool- it's a transparency! I used the cricut for the shapes. I have a GREAT tip! Do you have some patterned paper that you don't really like or think it's downright ugly? Use it to LAYER! You only see an eighth of an inch around and it actually adds interest- I did that with some old paper I had that I thought was just too bold to do anything with. Use up those ugly/bold/played out papers!!!

Misc!

Hi! Here are a few random things I've made in the past month:

I used the Cricut for this birthday card and DCWV Linen stack- one of my favorites!

These mini cards were created by mistake! I scored a card wrong so I cut it in half and made 2 gift tag type cards. Red shimmer cardstock with brown ribbon and brown stamping. These 2 stamps were a garage sale find at my local scrapbook store- great deal!

This is a 12x12 layout for a 3 piece framed series. The paper is from DCWV La Creme which is my other favorite stack! So elegant! This is my mom and dad and their grandbabies- too cute! I have 2 more layouts to make to complete the set and all will be displayed in 12x12 shadow boxes from michaels. I love that I don't have to be concerned with adding too much dimension- I can go a little crazy!

That's all for now... Starting September Challenge next weekend!

I LOVE YOU!

August Challenge- It's that time of the month! So my project has a lot of shimmer in it and I had a hard time taking a pic of it. The colors are more rich than pictured because it kinda got washed out from the flash. It's been raining every day so I haven't been able to take any natural light photos. The "I heart you" is stamped and then heat embossed. You can't see but the center square is popped up so there's some nice dimension going on with the flowers. The centers for the flowers are brads with red stickles.

Military/Patriotic card... The bottom image I was trying to capture the 2-toned effect. The thin strips are reg white cardstock, the wider strips are reflections shimmer white.

Hello!

Whhhhaaatttt.... no bling?!?!?! Haha I made these two cards this past week. Both cards are 3.5x8.5 and fit in a standard envelope (nice not to have to order specialty sized envelopes!). The 1st one is a twins 1st bday card. The hearts are from Cricut New arrival cut at 3.5". The chipboard letters I really love are from basic grey in Dark Chocolate Chip (also come in white)- lots of letters to play with in one pack. You can't tell from the pic but I brushed a red shimmer powder onto the letters. The blue strip is actually not cuttlebugged with swiss dots folder, it's actually a border folder that comes in a set of 4 or 5 and the "dots" are bigger than in swiss dots.

The next card was for hubby. The patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye and I used some fake eyelet stickers bottom left. Super easy card!

Mother's Day! (SPOILER!!!!) Don't look if you don't want to see your Mother's Day Card!

Can you believe how easy these were?! Very simple recipe.. 12x12 cardstock, ribbon, paper flowers (the economic prima line), gems/brads, corner punch, and white pen. 1 cardstock sheet makes 4 cards (I only used 4 sheets to make 16 cards!!!). I layered the ribbons and placed in different locations on the card. the centers of the flowers are either gems or brads. I used a punch to round out my corners.

What I wanted to really draw attention to was the faux stitching. Faux stitching is MAGIC on a simple card. It fills space and creates interest. I used a white Signo pen and I even wrote my sentiment instead of stamping. Take a look at the pink card, middle-back. Notice on that one I used blue stitching. Also looks great, but I started getting lazy about coordinating pen colors so I used white for all the rest :)

Baby's 1st Birthday

I made my first pop up card! I see a lot of these in my future, they're so much fun! The front is cuttlebuged and the name is cut using the Jasmine cart (Cricut) and using the center cut function (for the first time!). I popped up the ENTIRE layer which you can see better in the picture below. The patterned paper underneath is the same as the inside of the card (patterned paper=? i'm not sure-will fill in later).
So this is the actual "pop" part :) The "1" is cut from Storybook cricut cart, that I also stickled. "happy birthday" from a Michael's rubber (not acrylic) stamp. I even made up a poem! This side view shows the dimension when you open the card. This side view shows the dimension when you open the card.

Birthday Card

Here's one of the cards I made this weekend. I went to a "garage sale" at my scrapbook store and I found this cute set of 3 stamps each with a bouquet of flowers and a different sentiment. Love them! I stickled the centers with diamond stickles... turned colors from the cranberry ink! Used some ribbon and popped up the image.

Hope you all had a great weekend... I sure did! Although I did do some work around the house, I had a lot of fun for the most part. Hubby and I watched a couple of good movies and hung out with friends, ate good food, went to the museum AND I made two cards!!! I will post 1 card soon but the other 6 cards for April/May I will post after the events. YES... I said SEVEN cards for the next 2 months! I am excited because this week I'm going to look into getting a true light desk lamp to help out the quality of my pictures that I post. I want to homogenize the way I take pics because some of the detail is lost because the cards are sitting on various surfaces and in odd-ball lighting situations. Anyway, Happy creating everyone!

Baby Shower Card

This is a card I made for my friend's baby shower... I cuttlebugged the front AND the back of the card. Did a little stamping. Both the lady and the sentiment are cut from cricut new arrival. The card was getting a little busy so I wanted to pop her up. A neat trick with pop dots is that u can cut them when they are still on the protective sheet so you have the exact size needed even if it's a teeny tiny one. You can see on of my pop dots peeking out past her elbow... I could've cut that one down smaller :) I used pink stickles and a bit of bling... but I really wish I hadn't stickled the "congratulations" but once I started I had to just go with it! I think silver pen dots in strategic places would have looked much better.
I have A LOT to make in the next couple months! Let me know if you have any ideas for me... I need to make a baby's first bday card, 4 girl bday cards, a baby's 2nd bday card, and 2 boy bday cards... jeepers!
Coming soon.. I have a great idea for mass produced mother's day cards... hmmm but wait a second I may not want to share since some of u will be getting them!

Birthday Cards

Thirteenth birthday card... can't believe my nephew is a teen! Cut from a wonderful DCWV stack (I think it's generation technology). The birthday card for my friend is also paper from DCWV. I love their stacks... it's so awesome to not have to think about coordinating colors!

3rd card

Last one! Inside and outside pics.

Yikes!

Yikes! Has it really been over a month since I last posted?! So sorry...time had flown by. And I don't even have nice pictures to share since I took them in a hurry! Here are 3 b-day cards for the last month. I actually had even more occasions but I had to dip into the "stash". Thank goodness! Can I tell you how valuable it is to have a few cards prepared for emergencies?!

I cuttlebugged the background and stamped the HB and cake...super easy! Just a tiny bit of red stickles to tie into the red base card.

I used the cricut on this one to cut out the flower and the ribbon is from victoria's secret (:P). Most of the stickles on these cards are cover up of major mess-ups on my part- oops!

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day! This is a card for my hubby... Paper is from Michaels (not in a pack) made by the paper company (Get it on sale when it's 5 for a 1$) and it's nice because it's shimmery on both sides (unlike recollections- and is much thicker too). I made 2 cuts using paper pups cricut...soooo easy! Rhinestones are a must! Love you!
